Iowans-you are invited to submit your poetry to the annual Lyrical Iowa Poetry Competition! No entry fee. No membership or book purchase required. For all residents of Iowa from kindergartners to centenarians (students may be Iowa residents or attend a school in Iowa). "If you enjoy writing poetry, here is your chance to win modest cash prizes and/or have your poem published in the Iowa Poetry Association's (IPA) annual anthology, Lyrical Iowa," explains Marilyn Baszczynski, IPA editor and contest coordinator.

 More than 10,200 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2022 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work. Students listed below are from your area.

Iowa Lakes Community College releases the Fall 2022 Honors Lists recognizing students who achieve the highest academic standards earning inclusion on the President's List or Dean's List. For the Fall 2022 semester, 109 students earned President's List, an honor achieved by those who recorded a "straight-A" or 4.0 GPA, and 227 students made the Dean's List of students who earned a 3.
